Do you provide your own PA?

We provide all of our own audio equipment and setup. We have a PA, but we can also play with our smaller amps if its a more intimate gathering. You are free to use our microphones for any speeches or announcements.

What does the band wear?

We generally dress in semi-formal or formal wear but you can request something more specific during your planning process.

Do you perform outside?

Yes, we love performing outside but we require cover and a flat, hard, dry surface to play on. Instruments don’t sound as nice when wet (trust us!) and electrical cords mixed with water can be a fire hazard. Also, heat and direct sunlight can damage instruments, so please keep this in mind when placing the band and have a backup plan just in case! Since our instruments are acoustic, we do not play in cold conditions below 55 degrees.

Do you travel?

Of course! We love to travel! We do charge extra for the time depending on the location and you’ll need to cover transportation and accommodation for all band members. Ask us for a quote based on the specifics of your event.

PS - if drive is within 90 miles, it’s included at no added charge.

We have a stage, how much room does the band need?

We certainly don’t require a stage to perform; but, if you choose to have one, it does make us feel like rockstars! The stage should be no smaller than 12 feet x 16 feet for our 5 piece band.

Will you learn a new song for us?

Of course! Just make sure you give us enough notice of your special request so that the band has time to learn your song.

Does the band provide a sound system?

Yes! We look after everything music-related.

Can the band DJ between sets?

Absolutely! Send us a list of all the songs you want to hear. DJ service is always free - we want to make sure the room is still buzzing when the band isn’t playing. If you like, you can bring your own iPod for these breaks with a specific playlist, or, if you prefer, just leave it up to us! Either way, we’ll manage the playlist on the night so you don’t have to worry about the logistics.

Can we use your equipment for speeches?

Yes! The mic and sound system is already hooked up, so we’re happy to provide a mic for your officiant, speeches, and any other announcements. Please, no “drop the mic” moments! This equipment is expensive and, contrary to popular belief, it does break when dropped - which you definitely don’t want to risk right before your reception. We do charge for any damaged sound equipment that may come as a result of improper use by you or your guests.

Can you MC my event?

Of course! Two weeks before your wedding, we’ll go through all the details, including how to properly pronounce everyones name.

Who will be my contact the day of?

Your contact will be the person you signed a contract with. The lead on your event will also be able to answer any questions your wedding planner or venue manager may have on the night.

How much do we pay and when?

When you book Cold City Heat, you’ll pay a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure your date. The remaining amount is due the day of your event before we play.

What does the band require on the night?

Water (to stay hydrated), electrical power (to fuel our instruments!), and a covered space on a flat, hard, dry surface to play. We do not require a stage! If you want to feed us, we would love you for it but it is not required for performances less than 2 hours.
